Research Promotion Committee

  • Coordination of the process for submitting proposals for research and development projects.

  • Annual study on the mobilization scale of the department’s research potential and proposals for the current and next year (designating two-year periods).
  • Organization of presentations on the progress of doctoral candidates.
  • Organization of presentations on the research work and research plans of professors for the current year to facilitate exchange of opinions and collaboration among them.
  • A progress/update meeting is organized by the Research Promotion Committee at the beginning of the spring semester.
  • Organization of the Department’s Seminar, during which lectures are organized every 15 days.
  • Organization of meetings of the department’s professors to improve common research policy and seek collaborations.

  • Promotion and monitoring of Mobility (teaching staff, researchers, students) (expansion of collaborations through Erasmus or other programs, utilization of University collaboration memoranda, monitoring application processes, attracting interested parties – incoming and outgoing, targeting and monitoring students on an annual basis, international internships, information on mobility actions).
  • Coordination of Alumni Interconnection (Operation/Platform Information, Organization of events/competitions for alumni, Monitoring actions to inform alumni about postgraduate programs)
    Attraction of Students (at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels).
  • Planning actions for the promotion of the undergraduate program (organization of open days, organization of a student competition in collaboration with production entities, sending material to schools in Attica, website update with material – student testimonies, videos, presentation of department selection reasons).

    Planning training and lifelong learning actions – open but also targeted for department graduates (action planning, funding search).
  • Organization of technology and entrepreneurship/ school entrepreneurship competitions (Action planning, search for co-organizers, search for funding/prizes, promotion of collaborations to support winners in infrastructure/space/services, monitoring the mechanism of informing students and alumni about entrepreneurship actions).

Building Supervisor

Georgios Papadopoulos, Associate Professor

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and ensuring the correct and smooth operation of internal (shared and non-shared) and external areas of each building within his jurisdiction.
  • Informing the Secretary-General about all matters related to the security and civil protection needs of the buildings, including risk management from natural/technological disasters (fire, earthquake, flood, etc.), as well as maintenance, repair, and cleanliness needs.
  • Proposing to the Secretary-General the budgetary needs of the Supervision Office regarding matters falling under his supervision, especially expenses related to minor repairs, maintenance, and other expenses for the supply of items or services necessary for the proper functioning of each building.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the buildings within his jurisdiction, such as informing the relevant services about damage repair, good maintenance and operation of communication networks, construction, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing infrastructure of the buildings and their equipment.
  • Collaborating with the responsible Vice-Rector, the School Secretary-General, the heads of individual academic, research, and other units, and in general, the rest of the staff of the Institution, for any issue related to his responsibilities that cannot be addressed by himself.
  • Proposing to the Secretary-General for the execution of works or modifications related to the smooth operation of the buildings within his area of responsibility, justifying the relevant necessity.
  • Supervising regular and emergency personnel supporting the needs of supervision, security, and cleanliness of the buildings assigned to his area, or/and coordinating the personnel of economic entities/contractors for security and cleanliness needs of the Institution, exercising the following responsibilities:
    • Monitoring and overseeing the work of supervisors, guards, and custodians, where available, as well as cleaning staff,
    • Planning the execution of the tasks of this personnel or providing guiding instructions for their execution, according to the specific needs, and informing the relevant services of the Institution, after consultation with the Secretary-General, collaborating with economic entities (contractors) and their personnel, to whom the responsibility for the supervision, and/or cleanliness of the areas under his responsibility has been assigned,
    • Monitoring the frequency of maintenance of elevators, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, heating, and plumbing installations, infrastructures, and equipment of each building, executing the tasks falling within the buildings under his jurisdiction, for the update of the file with the necessary information each time,
    • Collaborating with the Security and Civil Protection Unit, as well as the Security and Civil Protection Committee of the Institution, after consultation with the Secretary-General, on security and civil protection issues in the buildings under his jurisdiction, collaborating, after consultation with the Secretary-General, with the Technical Service and the Technical Safety Officer of the Institution on issues falling within the scope of their responsibilities.

  • Proposes to the Department Assembly the invitation of Visiting Professors to cover teaching needs of the M.Sc.,
  • Prepares a plan for the modification of the curriculum, which is submitted to the Department Assembly,
  • Proposes to the Department Assembly the redistribution of courses between academic semesters, as well as issues related to the qualitative improvement of the curriculum.
